New Men’s Captain Matt Tunstall officially started his 2025 Captain’s year at the annual meeting of the Men’s Section.
Outgoing Captain Norman Davidson wished him well in his new role and carried on the tradition of helping him into his new green jacket.
Norman said that in his year as Captain he had raised around £5,000 for St Helena Hospice in Colchester.
In his opening address, Matt said he would also be raising funds for St Helena and said he was looking forward to his year as he has been playing golf at Stoke by Nayland since before he was old enough to carry a bag of clubs.
Several of the 2024 competition winners were also on hand to receive their trophies at the meeting.
The day after the annual meeting, more than 170 members took part in the Captain’s Drive In, following a hearty breakfast.
Winners, on countback, on the Constable Course were Brian and Taylor Roloff with 41 points.
Winners on the Gainsborough Course were Shane Ravensdale and Michele Seamark, also with 41 points
