Next year’s social calendar is bigger and better

As we approach the end of the year, with Christmas just around the corner, now is the time to start getting some dates in your diary for our 2024 social calendar.

From chocolate tasting to bingo, with parties, quizzes and barbecues, there will be something for everyone to enjoy.

But as we have to plan these events well in advance, we are giving you an early look so that you can save the dates for the ones you fancy and be ready to book your places when we get closer to the event.

Remember, you are more than welcome to come on your own, with other members, or bring along friends and family from outside the club – the more the merrier.

In addition to the events listed below, we also hope to organize Zoom sessions on rules, pro tips and much more.

More detailed information and costs will be sent out nearer each of the events.

January

Date: Friday 19th – An evening coaching event with one of our Professionals to help you cut out those wasted shots.

February

Date: Friday 2nd – Who doesn’t like chocolate? But do you know what to look for in the taste and flavour? Do you know the story of real craft chocolate and how it is made? Hosted by Cocoa Runners (www.cocoarunners.com), this will be a fun evening where we will taste between 8 and 10 different chocolates (and maybe some wines too). There will be a fun quiz with prizes.

March

Date: Sunday 17th – Come along and have some fun on the Gainsborough Course to celebrate St Patrick’s Day with a team Stableford event during the day, followed by an Irish stew and entertainment. Even if you haven’t played in the golf event, you can still come along for the food and fun afterwards.

April

Date: Friday 5th – Another new event for us, organised by popular demand, a Bingo evening with a professional bingo caller, music and all of the razzamatazz you would expect. Plus a whole host of prizes on offer. Bring along your family and friends to make it a memorable night.

May

Date: Friday 24th – A classic pub quiz, accompanied by a curry. What’s not to like?

June

Golf Week in 2024 will have a number of different on course events as usual – more details of which will be circulated early in the New Year. And at the culmination of Golf Week, we will again have a riotous summer party.

Date: Saturday 29th  – Following the day’s golfing event, we have a posh barbecue, then from 4pm – 10pm we will be dancing to the sounds of Funk Soul Lovers (www.funk-soul-lovers.co.uk) with music through the ages.

July

August

September

The ever popular Greenkeepers’ Revenge returns, with obstacles and trickery to overcome. Date to be advised.

October

Date: Saturday 5th – The annual Captains Dinner. Organise yourselves and book a table for your golfing group. Enjoy a three-course meal and entertainment.
