After having to abort the first attempt to play this final after only two holes, with the greens unplayable due to the torrential rain, Phil Hickley and Dan Martin re-convened bright and early two days later in an attempt to complete the match.
Despite the weather again threatening a disruption with standing water in many parts of the course, Phil and Dan managed to complete a closely fought match played in the right spirit with Dan emerging on the right side of a 2 and 1 victory.
Congratulations to Dan and commiserations to Phil. As Phil said, there’s always next year.
