Making full use of home advantage in the draw, the Stoke by Nayland pair of Fran Chandler and Corinne Jackson have battled their way through the first round of the Daily Mail Foursomes.
In glorious sunshine Fran and Corinne were paired with Glynis Hutchence and her partner Sue Skinner from the Harwich Golf Club.
On the Gainsborough Course, Harwich took an early lead by winning the first hole but Stoke hit back with wins on 2 and 3.
Fran and Corinne were 3 up at the turn and, despite losing the 10th, they pushed on to win the match 5 and 4, shaking hands on the 14th green.
They now await news of the draw for the second round.
