Our Ladies Silver team faced a tricky away fixture in the first of the season’s inter club matches – but came back up the A12 with half a point securely locked away.
Although the sun shone during the whole round at Chigwell Golf Club, the wind was quite a challenge but this didn’t phase our girls, Katie Clark, Jo Little, Bev Thompson, Melissa Halfhide and Bev Ellender.
Katie and Bev T both won their matches on 18th and 17th with Melissa halving her match on 17th. That was enough for us to earn the draw.
A hearty big thanks must also go to the caddies whose help, steady nerves and continuous support to their players must be mentioned. They were Liz Kiddy, Roz Clements, our Ladies Captain Jill Pottle, Sue Gregory and Janet Hodge.
We now have a couple of months before our next match, also away against Chelmsford. Of course it would be lovely to have some supporters watch and fly the flag for our SBN girls who hopefully will be wearing their new team colours.
