The finale to a very enjoyable week of fun golf, which showcased some pretty unusual golf competitions, was a Mixed Texas Scramble’
30 teams took to the Constable course for the event. Those that had signed for the far-flung starting holes returned to the clubhouse looking somewhat hot and thirsty as the thermometer approached the high 20s / low 30s.
Scoring was good, but as usual only a score in the 50s was going to get into the prizes.
In 1st place with a score of 54 was the 3-man team of Jon Mason, Simon Pushman and Guy Stevens. They each received a Hoody top.
In 2nd place with a score of 55 (on count back) and winning backpacks were Paul Kettley, Ben Wharton, Jamie Baxter and Chris Sargeant
And in 3rd place, also with a score of 55 were Mike Leake, Shane Turner, Carl Fennell and Simon Hickey, who received a sleeve of golf balls each.
It was another successful and enjoyable week of golf.
On behalf of all that played in the various events, thanks go to the Greenkeepers for coming up with some outrageous ideas for their ‘Revenge’ competition, to the Golf Team for designing the Cross Country course, to all the Pros that played in the Ladies’ Pro Am and last but by far from least, to Harry Hibbert for bringing it all together and sourcing all of the prizes for the week.
