On the 10th June in what should really be flaming June, an intrepid Pamela Randle and her caddie Jill Pottle set off at 5am in very rainy and blustery conditions at the start of a 54 hole charity challenge.

Less than two hours later the first 18 holes were completed, after a quick comfort break they set off again. At times it seemed as though the weather would be kind with a bit of sun appearing, but alas not.

Once again in less than 2 hours they appeared over the horizon on the 18th Gainsborough.

A longer break this time for coffee and sustenance and they were off again, this time on Constable, the weather was positively chilly with rain and a cold northerly wind, but they kept going with a fantastic effort to complete the challenge in around six hours.

The horses, donkeys and other animals at French’s Care Haven and Little Lifts are extremely grateful for the success of the challenge and to all those who sponsored or donated. Approximately £300 plus will have been raised.

Well done Pamela and caddie Jill
