Stoke by Nayland has two new club champions – and for the first time ever in the history of the Club, it is a father and son duo who have taken the honours.

The Championship was played over two rounds on consecutive days – Gainsborough first and then Constable.

The overall lowest gross total of 144, set by Andrew Tokley, saw him win the Club Championship by two clear shots from George Day in second place on 146. In third place on 148 was Ian Carter.

The nett Champion – winning the AJB Cup – was Andrew’s father, former Club Captain Bob Tokley with a score of 136. In what was a very close finish, Bob just edged Mark Clark into second place on countback, also with an aggregate 136. Third in the nett competition was Jon Palmer, one shot back on 137.

For Andrew, this was the culmination of a journey up through the levels at Stoke, as he started out as a junior member
