Well over 100 men came forward to be tested at our third annual Prostate Cancer Screening event in memory of our club member Dick Chalmers.
We are so proud to run this event which aims to safeguard the health and wellbeing of men and raises awareness about the importance of detecting prostate problems early on – an issue that has seen a recent rise in public awareness following The King’s recent treatment for an enlarged prostate.
We would like to say thank to The Graham Fulford Cancer Trust (https://psatests.org.uk/), and the wonderful Dot and Faye (the phlebotomists), as both club members and men from the local community had blood samples taken and were provided with their email results in less than two days.
They provide amazing support and advice, particularly for anyone who has received test results in the Amber or Red zone. We know this type of event makes a difference.
Given such positive feedback received, we will be running another event in 2025. Thank you to everyone who supported us in making this event such a success.
A special thanks also goes to Ace’s Executive Cars who sponsored the drink for everyone being tested on the night.
