The Ladies Silver Trophy County Team’s excellent run has come to an end.
Playing in the quarter finals against Warley Park on the neutral course of Benton Hall, they finally met their match.
Unfortunately (we found out afterwards) we were against a team whose handicaps went right down and close to the cut off handicap of 9.5.
Our team valiantly fought but were outplayed, and so our team journey this year came to an end. But we had a good run and a good time, with some exciting golf played along the way.
In the League matches we beat Stockbrook, Cronden Park, The Heron and The Essex, with only Colchester getting the better of us, so we did extremely well.
Thank you to the squad of Bev Thompson, Jane Golding, Tracey Dickens, Catriona Chaplin, Izzie Stone, Bev Ellender, Sarah Atherton, Melissa Halfhide, Fran Chandler and Margaret Bentley.
Thank you too to Stella Hammon, our Ladies Captain who came along to all our matches cheering us on, and to all the caddies who gave up their time and supported us along the way.
So on to next year… 2025 here we come!
