With a couple of days to go before a 67th birthday most sane Senior Section members would happily settle for a gentle day’s golf and a quick drink in the bar. Not our intrepid Seniors Captain, John Parkinson, who decided to play 67 holes in the day with a target of raising £670 towards his Captain’s Charity, Parkinson’s UK.
Ably supported during the day by members of his Seniors support team, John had a great day – 294 shots, 7 birdies, 31 pars! 22 bogeys and only 7 double bogeys.
John’s brilliant effort has been more than rewarded with £2132 raised to date – well ahead of his target. It was amazing that this figure includes cash passed to John by both fellow SbN members and guests as he played around both courses.
