The Ladies are off to a winning start in their Essex County Inter-Club Matches with a victory in the Silver Trophy Category against Crondon Park.
The Silver Trophy matches are played off scratch and are open to all ladies with handicap index of 9.5 and over, so the players need to have handicaps as near as possible to 9.5.
We are in League 1 and have to play five matches before the winner of the league goes through to the knockout stages.
Our team consisted of Bev Thompson, Jane Golding, Sarah Atherton, Bev Ellender and Melissa Halfhide.
Playing on Constable Course, the first four games saw the teams locked at 2-2, but Bev Ellender won the final match to seal a 3-2 victory.
Well played to all the team, and it was particularly pleasing as we had two ladies playing, Sarah and Melissa, who were new to match play.
Thank you to caddies: Jill, Paul, Graeme and Liz too.
