More than 200 members turned out to “drive in” their two new Captains.
On a cold but bright November morning, members enjoyed a full English breakfast and then filled both the Gainsborough and Constable Courses for the traditional shotgun start.
On the 1st Gainsborough tee, new Men’s Captain Norman Davidson and Ladies Captain Stella Hammond performed the traditional drive in, watched by a raucous crowd of members who had all guessed how far the drives would go.
All money raised from the guesses will be split between the two new charities for the next year – St Helena Hospice for Norman, and Little Lifts for Stella.
