Stoke by Nayland entered a team in the Essex County Centenary team competition at Thorndon Park, and managed to finish well inside the top half of teams taking part.
The team of Glen Jackson, Norman Davidson, Bob Filer and John Parkinson, playing in a Stableford event with the best two from four to count, managed a total of 76 points, placing them 14th out of 36.
The winners Hartswood racked up a magnificent 88 points.
