32 of our members travelled to Thorpeness Golf Club on 25th- 26th of January for a great couple of days and fierce competition over 36 holes. We were lucky with the weather and the spectrum of members from new to long term was wonderful to see, showing what being part of a club is really about. The evening saw some tasty food and members meeting new people for the first time and hopefully not the last!
After Day 1 Jackson Crisp & Dan Whiting were leading the group with fantastic 43 points with Billy Huggins & Ross Lorimer and Nick Wright & Graham Cork very close with 38 points.
In the evening the group had a very enjoyable meal in Ogilvie’s Restaurant followed by watching the football and some friendly games of poker, snooker and darts.
Day 2 brought blue skies and bright sunshine. The scoring of the same standard throughout if not better. Alan Austin & Reg Reid stormed up the overall leaderboard with a great 43 points along with Barry & Lesley Hitchcock with 42 points. Jackson & Dan unfortunately couldn’t repeat their brilliance from day 1 to stay in the prizes.
Following on from golf everyone gathered in the clubhouse to find out the final overall standings
After arriving back, we noticed a glitch in the scoring system in terms of handicap for one pairing with Simon Dainty off +5 which the system took as 5 hcp instead of -5, which altered the results. The revised overall results are as below:
1st – B Huggins & R Lorimer
2nd – R Reid & A Austin
3rd – B Hitchcock & L Hitchcock
The prizes will also be sorted and allocated appropriately.
Many thanks to C’mon for matching the winners prize with a £50 voucher for each of the winners to spend on their gorgeous new sustainable clothing, soon to be available in the Proshop or viewable via www.cmon.golf
We would like to thank everyone again for attending making the trip very enjoyable & memorable.
