Twelve mixed pair teams took to the Gainsborough Course on Bank Holiday Monday to compete for the President’s Prize.
This competition was linked in the past to the national Ping 4BBB competition, but England Golf is not running it this year.
The wind was blustery, particularly on the back nine (put the trees back came the cry) with a threat of a shower later in the day, but thankfully it stayed mainly dry.
Scoring was quite difficult at times but the first three pairs made it into the 40s. The winners were:
1. Mandy Byham and A J Warraich 44 pts
2. Janet Bettle and Cyril Williams 40pts on countback
3. Stella Hammond and Mark Baxter 40pts
Club President, Peter Garnett, thanked everyone for supporting the event and hoped they enjoyed the day. He then presented his prize to the winners.
