As has become tradition over the past 12 years, the Seniors Vice Captain’s Tour heralds the start of summer.
Over the years the support for the tour has increased dramatically and this year 36 souls spend three days playing at Greetham Valley Hotel & Golf course in Lincolnshire. 36 is probably the maximum number that any course is prepared to entertain and cope with !!
For those of you that would not know of Greetham Valley GC it is very similar in many respects to SbN with two testing courses and a hotel and catering facilities that are well worth a visit.
Vice Captain Graham Cork put a huge amount of effort into organising this year’s tour, the main event of which was a rolling Stableford competition played over the three days, together with a variety of simultaneous team formats.
Individual Stableford winners on each day were John Crane, Tony Carman and Brian Willsher with Lionel Hatch ending up the overall winner with the highest aggregate points score over the three rounds.
An excellent week, superbly organised by VC Graham. Everyone is now keenly looking forward to the 2026 tour to Dunston Hall and Royal Cromer.
