More than 50 members of the Senior Section contested the inaugural Mike Moore Memorial Scramble, in honour of former member Mike Moore, who passed away last year.
Mike was known for his cry of “40 what?” every time a high score was recorded in a Seniors competition, so earned the nickname “Lightbulb”.
The Seniors have commissioned a trophy in the shape of a lightbulb and it was the prize on offer.
We were also delighted that Mike’s wife Karen Moore was on hand to present the trophy to the winning team of Paul Sandfield, Mick Henry, David Humphreys and Dave Giles who carded a net score of 57.
Also with a score under 60 were runners up John Parkinson, Pete Hele, Paul Sheffield and Norman Davidson with 58.
Third, with a score of 60 were Phil Hickley, Rob Ogles, Kevin Price and Andy Wood.
